KPK Examines Nine Witnesses in Bribery Case of Kuansing Regent Suhardiman Amby
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has begun summoning witnesses in the investigation of alleged bribery and gratification involving the non-active Regent of Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing), Suhardiman Amby. The examinations are scheduled to take place at the Representative Office of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) in Riau Province on Wednesday (8/7).
KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo confirmed that nine witnesses were called to provide testimony today. The witnesses include members of the legislative body and officials from the Kuansing Regency Government.
The list of summoned witnesses includes the Speaker of the Kuansing Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), Juprizal, DPRD member Dasver Librian, and several key officials such as Assistant I of the Regional Secretariat Fahdiansyah, Head of the Plantation Office Andri Yama Putra, and Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning Office Ade Fahrer Arif. The KPK also summoned the Head of Governance Sigit Purnomo, Secretary of the Regional Disaster Management Agency Marel Hendra, Head of General Affairs Deswan Antoni, and the Head of Logas Tanah Darat Sub-district Syahferi.
The case originated from a sting operation conducted by the KPK on 29 June 2026 in Kuansing and Jakarta. Suhardiman Amby and Kuansing Regional Secretary Zulkarnain subsequently surrendered on 30 June 2026 before being named suspects on 1 July 2026.
The KPK has named three main suspects: Suhardiman Amby, Zulkarnain, and the President Director of PT Mitra Ideal Consultant, Ardiles. They are suspected of involvement in a job auction scheme within the Kuansing Regency Government for the 2021-2026 period. In addition to the job bribery, Suhardiman is also suspected of receiving gratuities related to the processing of permits for the release of limited production forest areas.
In a related development, Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni reported an attempt by Suhardiman to give him an envelope on 2 June 2026. The Minister stated that he returned the envelope through his aide-de-camp on 12 June 2026 and officially reported the rejection of the gratuity to the KPK on 3 July.
