Tulungagung, East Java (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has once again examined nine officials from Tulungagung Regency in East Java, meaning that the number of individuals who have undergone questioning in the alleged extortion case involving suspended Regent Gatut Sunu Wibowo (GSW) now totals 27.

KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated in Tulungagung on Friday that the examinations are part of the deepening investigation into the alleged extortion and other receipts within the Tulungagung Regency administration.

The examinations are being conducted in stages at the East Java BPKP representative office, with each of the nine witnesses questioned daily.

According to Budi, this follow-up examination aims to complete the evidence and clarify the structure of the case being handled by investigators.

“With complete, honest, and truthful statements, it is hoped that this case can be uncovered clearly,” he said.

He added that the witnesses summoned are not only from officials previously examined but also other parties deemed related to the case.
