KPK Examines Ministry of Labour Secretary General Over Appointment of K3 Certificate Extortion Suspects
Jakarta – The Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has questioned Cris Kuntadi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Labour, regarding the appointment of officials suspected in an alleged extortion case involving occupational safety and health (K3) certificate processing within the ministry.
“The witness attended. Investigators requested statements regarding the appointment of suspects in this case,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Additionally, Budi stated that the KPK is investigating knowledge of requests for money from the Labour Ministry’s Secretary General and two other witnesses: DA, Head of the Building Construction Section at the Directorate of K3 Standards Supervision within the Labour Ministry, and DIM, a civil servant at the Labour Ministry.
“Investigators are examining witness knowledge regarding requests or receipt of sums of money in connection with the issuance of K3 certification to parties within the Ministry of Labour,” he said.
The case originated from a sting operation conducted by the KPK. On 22 August 2025, the KPK named Immanuel Ebenezer, Deputy Minister of Labour, along with ten others as suspects in the alleged extortion case related to K3 certificate processing within the Labour Ministry.

Hery Sutanto (HS) – Director of Institutional Development, Ministry of Labour, 2021–February 2025

Subsequently, on 11 December 2025, the KPK announced three additional suspects in the case. They are Sunardi Manampiar Sinaga (SMS), former Head of the Public Relations Bureau at the Labour Ministry; Chairul Fadhly Harahap (CFH), former Secretary to the Director General of Binwasnaker and K3 at the Labour Ministry; and Haiyani Rumondang (HR), former Director General of Binwasnaker and K3 at the Labour Ministry.
