KPK examines Ministry of Finance section head regarding seized money in North Jakarta Tax Office case
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) examined the Head of Section for Law Enforcement Development I in the Business Process Transformation Directorate of the Directorate General of Taxation at the Ministry of Finance, with initials TPN, regarding money seized in the investigation of the alleged bribery case at the North Jakarta Medium Tax Service Office.
“The witness was examined by investigators regarding the seizure of money allegedly from DWB (former Head of the North Jakarta Medium Tax Service Office, Dwi Budi),” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Thursday.
In addition, Budi said that the KPK is delving into several matters related to Dwi Budi, who is one of the suspects in the case.
“Witness IYS, as a notary, was confirmed regarding assets owned by suspect DWB. Then, witness NK, as a private party, was asked for information regarding the purchase of assets by suspect DWB,” he said.
He also stated that the KPK is investigating Dwi Budi’s foreign exchange transactions by examining SYN, an employee of Neptunus Money Changer, as a witness in the case.
The examinations of these witnesses by the KPK took place on 15 April 2026.
Previously, the KPK conducted its first sting operation (OTT) of 2026 on 9-10 January 2026, arresting eight people.
On 9 January 2026, the KPK stated that the OTT was related to alleged tax arrangements in the mining sector.
On 11 January 2026, the KPK named five people as suspects from that OTT. They are the Head of the North Jakarta Medium Tax Service Office, Dwi Budi (DWB), the Head of the Supervision and Consultation Section of the North Jakarta Medium Tax Service Office, Agus Syaifudin (AGS), the Appraiser Team at the North Jakarta Medium Tax Service Office, Askob Bahtiar (ASB), tax consultant Abdul Kadim Sahbudin (ABD), and Staff of PT Wanatiara Persada, Edy Yulianto (EY).
Edy Yulianto is alleged to be the party who bribed employees of the North Jakarta Medium Tax Service Office for Rp4 billion to reduce the land and building tax (PBB) payment shortfall for the 2023 tax period, originally around Rp75 billion, which was then changed to Rp15.7 billion.
