The Corruption Eradication Commission continues to develop the investigation into the alleged corruption case involving the inactive Mayor of Madiun, Maidi, by tracing the collection of corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds.

KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo explained that the deepening is being conducted through the examination of a witness with the initials SW.

“In this examination, matters related to the collection of several CSR funds were delved into,” said Budi to journalists in Jakarta on Tuesday (21/4).

According to him, the witness SW, known to be a staff member of Maidi’s trusted aide, Rochim Ruhdiyanto, was also asked for information regarding the implementation of CSR projects.

Previously, KPK conducted a sting operation against Maidi on Monday (19/1). The anti-corruption agency revealed that the sting operation was related to allegations of receiving project gratuities as well as the management of CSR funds in Madiun City.

KPK designated three individuals as suspects. They are Maidi (MD), Rochim Ruhdiyanto (RR), and the Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning Department of Madiun City, Thariq Megah.

KPK also uncovered two case clusters in this matter. First, allegations of extortion involving Maidi and Rochim Ruhdiyanto through the modus operandi of project gratuities and CSR funds. Second, allegations of receiving gratification implicating Maidi along with Thariq Megah.
