KPK Examines Lippo Cikarang Legal Officer, Probes Bekasi Regent's House Purchase
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) examined Ruri, a legal officer at Lippo Cikarang, as a witness to delve deeper into the house purchase by Bekasi Regent for the 2025-2030 period, Ade Kuswara Kunang, on Tuesday (31/3). The KPK suspects the asset purchase is related to the alleged bribery case involving project kickbacks and receipt of gratuities that has ensnared Ade Kuswara. “In the examination held at the KPK Merah Putih Building, investigators delved into the witness’s knowledge regarding the asset purchase in the form of a house by Suspect ADK [Ade Kuswara Kunang],” stated KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in a written statement on Wednesday (1/4). Budi explained that this tracing is necessary not only for proving the case but also as an initial effort to recover assets. Furthermore, the KPK revealed that the Bekasi Regent purchased one unit of house in Lippo Cikarang. “One unit,” said Budi. The KPK has named as suspects and detained Bekasi Regent Ade Kuswara, the Head of Sukadami Village in Cikarang Selatan Subdistrict, H.M. Kunang, who is also the father of Regent Ade Kuswara, and private individual Sarjan. Ade Kuswara and H.M. Kunang, as bribe recipients, are charged with violating Article 12a or Article 11 and Article 12B of the Corruption Eradication Law (UU Tipikor) in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) first of the Criminal Code (KUHP), as well as Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or b or Article 13 of the UU Tipikor in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) first of the KUHP. Meanwhile, Sarjan, as the bribe giver, is charged with Article 5 paragraph (1) letter a or b or Article 13 of the UU Tipikor. Sarjan’s case file has been handed over to the court. Sarjan is accused of bribing Ade Kuswara with Rp11.4 billion in cash to obtain work packages for the 2025 Fiscal Year (TA). Sarjan is the Director of PT Zaki Karya Membangun and owner of CV Mancur Berdikari, CV Barok Kostruksi, CV Lor Jaya, CV Singkil Berkah Anugerah, and PT Tirta Jaya Mandiri. The alleged bribe money was given through intermediary H.M. Kunang amounting to Rp1 billion. Then to witness Sugiarto for Rp3.3 billion, Ricky Yuda Bahtiar alias Nyai for Rp5.1 billion, and Rahmat bin Sawin alias Acep for Rp2 billion. In addition to Ade Kuswara, prosecutors state that Sarjan is also suspected of giving money to other parties, including the Head of the Water Resources, Public Works, and Construction Agency of Bekasi Regency, Henri Lincoln, amounting to Rp2,940,000,000. Then to the Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency of Bekasi Regency, Benny Sugiarto Prawiro, amounting to Rp500,000,000. Followed by the Head of the People’s Housing, Settlement Areas, and Land Agency of Bekasi Regency, Nurchaidir, amounting to Rp300,000,000; and the Head of the Education Agency of Bekasi Regency, Imam Faturochman, amounting to Rp280,000,000. For his actions, Sarjan is charged with violating Article 5 paragraph 1 letter a or Article 5 paragraph 1 letter b or Article 13 of the Corruption Eradication Law (UU Tipikor) in conjunction with Article 127 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 618 of Law Number 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code (KUHP).
