The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) examined Gatot Heroe (GHH), a new suspect in a corruption case at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of the Ministry of Finance. Gatot was examined today.

“That is correct. Today, Wednesday (26/8), investigators conducted an examination of Mr GHH, a civil servant at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, Sub-directorate of Enforcement of Directorate P2 for the period June 2023 to February 2026,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists on Wednesday (26/8/2026).

He explained that Gatot had arrived at the KPK’s Merah Putih building in Kuningan, South Jakarta. The examination is still ongoing.

“This examination is a continuation of the development of the investigation into the alleged criminal act of bribery related to customs and excise,” he said.

In this case at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, the KPK has carried out further development. As a result, the KPK has named one new suspect, namely Gatot Heroe, a civil servant at the Sub-directorate of Enforcement of Directorate P2 of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise for the period June 2023 to February 2026.

Gatot Heroe’s suspect status was initially conveyed by John Field after being examined by investigators. John Field’s statement was then confirmed by the Acting Director of Investigation of the KPK, Achmad Taufik Husein.

The development carried out by the KPK in this case was marked by the issuance of two new investigation warrants (sprindik). One sprindik already has a suspect, namely Gatot Heroe, while the other sprindik has not yet named any party as a suspect.
