Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) examined the former driver of the former Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe, as a witness in the alleged corruption case concerning the management of operational support funds within the Papua Provincial Government.

“The examination took place at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building regarding SMT, who served as Lukas Enembe’s former driver,” stated KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Wednesday.

According to KPK records, witness SMT complied with the summons from the anti-corruption agency at 08:59 WIB.

Previously, on 11 June 2025, the KPK disclosed state losses in the case of alleged corruption in the management of operational support funds and the programme to enhance civil service for heads and deputy heads of regions in the Papua Provincial Government for 2020-2022.

The financial losses to the state in this case are estimated at Rp1.2 trillion.

The KPK also designated suspects in the case, namely former Assistant Provincial Expenditure Treasurer of Papua Dius Enumbi and former Governor of Papua Lukas Enembe.

However, Lukas Enembe’s suspect status was nullified following his death on 26 December 2023.
