KPK examines former BBPJN head in probe into North Sumatra road project
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) examined former Head of the North Sumatra Regional Highway Implementation Centre (BBPJN) Stanley Cicero Haggard Tuapattinaja on 12 May 2026 to delve into the procurement of infrastructure in the BBPJN North Sumatra environment. “The individual attended and was questioned regarding the procurement processes for infrastructure within the North Sumatra Public Works and Public Housing Office (Dinas PUPR) as well as the North Sumatra Major Highway Implementation Centre (Balai Besar PJN),” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters in Jakarta on Wednesday. Budi explained that the deepening was related to the development of the investigation into the alleged corruption case of the road construction project in North Sumatra. “Because the investigation using this general investigation order letter is still without any determination of suspects,” he stated. Two days later, specifically on 28 June 2025, the KPK designated five individuals as suspects in the case divided into two clusters. The five suspects are the Head of North Sumatra Dinas PUPR Topan Obaja Putra Ginting (TOP), Head of the Gunung Tua Regional Technical Implementation Unit of North Sumatra Dinas PUPR who is also the commitment-making official Rasuli Efendi Siregar (RES), commitment-making official at the North Sumatra Region I PJN Work Unit Heliyanto (HEL), President Director of PT Dalihan Natolu Group Muhammad Akhirun (KIR), and Director of PT Rona Na Mora Muhammad Rayhan Dulasmi Piliang (RAY). In the case construction, the KPK suspects Muhammad Akhirun and Muhammad Rayhan Dulasmi Piliang of acting as bribe givers. Meanwhile, the bribe recipients in the first cluster are allegedly Topan Ginting and Rasuli Efendi Siregar, while in the second cluster it is allegedly Heliyanto. The KPK has been summoning several witnesses in the case since 5 May 2026 and announced the development of the investigation using a general investigation order, so no new suspects have been designated.
