The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has summoned a number of Muara Enim Regency Government officials in connection with an alleged bribery case implicating the non-active Regent of Muara Enim, Edison, as a suspect. Among those summoned is former Acting Regent of Muara Enim, Hengky Putrawan. “The KPK has scheduled witness examinations in the alleged criminal act of corruption in the procurement of goods and services and/or other gratuities within the Muara Enim Regency Government, South Sumatra, for the 2025-2026 fiscal year,” KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo told journalists on Thursday (23/7/2026). The examination is being conducted at the KPK building in Kuningan, South Jakarta. Hengky arrived at the KPK building for questioning at around 10.00 WIB. The KPK also summoned the Head of Muara Enim’s Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD), M Tarmizi Ismail, and the Head of the Muara Enim Regency Development Planning Agency (Bappeda), Emran Tabrani. Budi has not yet detailed the specific matters to be investigated during this session. The following is a list of witnesses summoned by the KPK: 1. Fera Sari, Inspector of Muara Enim; 2. Rusdi Hairullah, Assistant II of the Muara Enim Regency Government; 3. M Tarmizi Ismail, Head of BPKAD Muara Enim; 4. Karmidi, civil servant at the Muara Enim Education and Culture Office; 5. Yoan Nofriansyah, civil servant at the Muara Enim Education and Culture Office; 6. Hermison, private sector; 7. Hengky Putrawan, former Acting Regent of Muara Enim; 8. Emran Tabrani, Head of Bappeda Muara Enim; 9. Prisilia Renny Hidayati, private sector employee; 10. Thoharun, entrepreneur. Previously, Edison was arrested by the KPK in a sting operation on Monday (8/6). The KPK then named Edison a suspect on Tuesday (9/6). Besides Edison, the KPK named three other individuals as suspects following the operation. They are: 1. Edison, Regent of Muara Enim; 2. Abi Nurwardani, Secretary of the Education and Culture Office for 2026; 3. Adi Triyadi, the Regent’s nephew; 4. Cory Erin Hardi, Marketing at PT Millenium Solusi Abadi. The KPK suspects Edison received a bribe of Rp 500 million from Cory. The bribe was allegedly received through Abi Nurwardani. The bribe is suspected to be a payment to maintain ‘good relations’ because PT MSA, as a smart board supplier, had already secured a procurement project from the Muara Enim Regency Government in 2025. In addition, Abi received deposits from other business partners within the Muara Enim administration. The KPK seized approximately Rp 1.9 billion in this case. On Wednesday (10/6), the KPK conducted a sting operation against five BPK civil servants. The KPK stated this operation was still related to the alleged bribery in the Muara Enim Regency Government. The KPK suspects the Regent of Muara Enim gave bribes to BPK officials regarding findings in the smart board procurement. The KPK subsequently named five suspects in the case of alleged bribery from Edison to BPK officials. The KPK revealed that the BPK officials requested Rp 1.6 billion to alter the audit results. The five suspects in Edison’s second case are: 1. Angga, a private party; 2. Titin Rita Lestari, a civil servant or Technical Controller; 3. Edison, Regent of Muara Enim; 4. Cory Erin Hardi, Marketing at PT Millenium Solusi Abadi; 5. Fika, a Director of PT Millenium Solusi Abadi.
