The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has examined former Acting Regent of Muara Enim, Hengky Putrawan, along with three other officials from the Muara Enim Regency Government in South Sumatra, as witnesses in a bribery case involving non-active Regent Edison. The three other officials are Muara Enim Inspector Fera Sari, Assistant II of the Muara Enim Regional Secretariat Rusdi Hairullah, and Head of the Muara Enim Regional Development Planning Agency Emran Tabrani. The examinations took place at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta. KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo confirmed the identities of those questioned to journalists on Thursday. In addition, the KPK also examined two civil servants from the Muara Enim Education and Culture Office, identified by the initials KMD and YNO, as well as two private sector individuals, PRS and THR. According to KPK records, the witnesses arrived at various times, with THR arriving first at 08.55 WIB and Hengky Putrawan at 10.00 WIB. Budi Prasetyo added that the KPK had also summoned two other witnesses for questioning on the same day, namely the Head of the Muara Enim Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office, Tarmizi Ismail, and a private individual with the initials HRM. The case stems from a sting operation conducted on 7-8 June 2026, which resulted in the arrest of 10 individuals, including Regent Edison. Following the operation, the KPK named four suspects on 9 June 2026 in connection with alleged bribery related to the procurement of goods and services and other gratuities within the Muara Enim Regency Government for the 2025-2026 fiscal year. The suspects are Edison, Secretary of the Muara Enim Education and Culture Office Abi Nurwardani, marketing staff of PT Millenium Solusi Abadi Cory Erin Hardi, and Edison’s nephew Adi Triyadi. A subsequent sting operation on 10 June 2026 led to the arrest of five auditors from the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK). The following day, the KPK named five suspects for allegedly conditioning BPK audit findings for the Muara Enim Regency Government for the 2025 fiscal year, including Edison, Cory Erin Hardi, PT Millenium Solusi Abadi Director Fika Nur Alawi, private party Augusz Dewanggara, and BPK auditor Titin Rita Lestari. The KPK also searched the residence of BPK member Bobby Adhityo Rizaldi on 13-14 July 2026, seizing electronic evidence, and subsequently examined him as a witness on 16 July 2026.
