KPK examines Fadia Arafiq's husband, DPR RI member Ashraff Abu
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) examined the husband of suspended Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq, who is also a member of the House of Representatives (DPR RI), Ashraff Abu (AA), as a witness.
“The examination took place at the KPK’s Red and White Building for AA as Commissioner of PT Raja Nusantara Berjaya for the years 2023-2024,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Wednesday.
In addition, Budi stated that the KPK examined the Commissioner of PT Rokan Citra Money Changer with initials YLD as a witness in the alleged corruption case implicating Fadia Arafiq.
According to KPK records, Ashraff Abu arrived at 10:00 WIB, while witness YLD arrived at 08:58 WIB.
Previously, on 3 March 2026, the KPK arrested Fadia Arafiq along with her aide and trusted associate in the Semarang area, Central Java. The KPK also secured 11 other individuals in Pekalongan, Central Java.
This series of arrests was part of the KPK’s seventh hand-catching operation (OTT) in 2026, coinciding with the month of Ramadan 1447 Hijriah.
On 4 March 2026, the KPK named Fadia Arafiq as the sole suspect in the alleged corruption case related to the procurement of outsourcing services or contract labour, and other procurements within the Pekalongan Regency Government for the 2023-2026 fiscal years.
The KPK stated that Fadia Arafiq is suspected of involvement in a conflict of interest by establishing a family-owned company, PT Raja Nusantara Berjaya (RNB), which won several procurements within the Pekalongan Regency Government.
Fadia Arafiq and her family are said to have received Rp19 billion from these procurement contracts, broken down as Rp13.7 billion purely enjoyed by the singer of the song Cik Cik Bum Bum and her family, Rp2.3 billion distributed to the Director of PT RNB who is also a household assistant named Rul Bayatun, and Rp3 billion from cash withdrawals that have not yet been distributed.
