KPK Examines Employee, Lippo Cikarang Respects Legal Process

In connection with media reports regarding the summons of one of Lippo Cikarang’s employees by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), we state that the summons was conducted in the capacity of a witness related to the KPK’s information-gathering process.

Lippo Cikarang fully respects the ongoing legal process and is cooperative in providing the necessary information.

“We emphasise that the company is not involved in the case under investigation,” stated Lippo Cikarang’s management in a written statement.

The property purchase transaction mentioned in the reports was a standard commercial transaction that followed standard procedures. The unit was subsequently cancelled in accordance with regulations and is now being marketed normally.

“We also emphasise that this has no connection to various ongoing housing development programmes, including initiatives for housing for low-income communities (MBR),” stressed Lippo Cikarang’s management.

Lippo Cikarang remains committed to implementing good corporate governance and fully supports efforts towards transparency and law enforcement.

On Tuesday (31/3), the KPK summoned a legal staff member from Lippo Cikarang for examination as a witness in the alleged corruption case ensnaring dismissed Bekasi Regent Ade Kuswara Kunang.

KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said the scheduled witness was RR, who is positioned as Legal at Lippo Cikarang. The examination was held at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta.

“The examination is of RR as Legal at Lippo Cikarang,” said Budi, quoted from Antara.

The KPK has named three suspects in the alleged bribery case for project ijons, namely dismissed Bekasi Regent Ade Kuswara Kunang (ADK), his father HM Kunang (HMK), and private party Sarjan (SRJ).

Budi said the KPK is currently focused on investigating the alleged project bribery case in the Bekasi Regency Government environment, West Java, involving Ade Kuswara Kunang.

Budi said the KPK will seek the figure who ordered the deletion of communication traces, including the motive.

Therefore, Budi said the KPK will in the future conduct confirmations with parties deemed able to explain the origin of the vehicle in question.

Bekasi Regent Ade Kuswara Kunang, his father Sukadami Village Head HM Kunang, and private party Sarjan (SRJ) were caught in the KPK’s handcatch operation (OTT). Chats on their five mobile phones have disappeared.
