The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) examined Endri Erawan (EE), President Director of PT Alamjaya Bara Pratama, and Rifando (RF), Finance Director of PT Sinar Kumala Naga, along with a private individual identified as FT, as witnesses in an alleged gratuity case connected to coal production in Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan.

The examination took place at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta. KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that the three witnesses were questioned in connection with the investigation into corporate suspects. Additionally, the KPK summoned a housewife with the initials TA for questioning related to the case against former Kutai Kartanegara Regent Rita Widyasari, though her attendance remained unconfirmed by midday.

The case originated in September 2017 when the KPK named Rita Widyasari, along with Hery Susanto Gun, President Director of PT Sawit Golden Prima, and Khairudin, Commissioner of PT Media Bangun Bersama, as suspects in a gratuity case involving the issuance of a plantation location permit. During the investigation, the KPK seized various assets, including 91 vehicles, valuable goods, five plots of land, and 30 luxury watches. The probe later expanded to include alleged payments from the coal mining sector, with Rita suspected of receiving approximately USD 5 per metric tonne of coal.
