The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) examined Akhmad Fikri Yahmani, Head of the Employee Termination and Retirement Subdivision at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, Ministry of Finance, as a witness on Wednesday (17/6). The examination aimed to probe the employment status of suspect Budiman Bayu Prasojo (BBP). “The witness from the Directorate General of Customs and Excise was questioned regarding the employment status of BBP, who has been named a suspect in the Customs case,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta on Wednesday evening. Budi explained that this information is required by the KPK in the investigation process of the alleged corruption case within Customs. “In the series of legal proceedings related to this Customs case, only one suspect remains under investigation, namely suspect BBP,” he said. Meanwhile, he stated that the suspects from Customs have been transferred to the prosecution stage, and the drafting of the indictment is currently underway. Previously, on 4 February 2026, the KPK conducted a sting operation within the Directorate General of Customs and Excise. A day later, the KPK named six individuals as suspects in a case of alleged bribery and gratification related to the import of counterfeit or KW goods within Customs. They are Rizal (RZL), Director of Enforcement and Investigation at Customs for the 2024-January 2026 period who is currently serving as Head of the Customs Regional Office for Western Sumatra; Sisprian Subiaksono (SIS), Head of the Intelligence Sub-Directorate for Enforcement and Investigation at Customs; and Orlando Hamonangan (ORL), Head of the Customs Intelligence Section. Additionally, the KPK named Blueray Cargo owner John Field (JF), Blueray Cargo Import Documentation Team Leader Andri (AND), and Blueray Cargo Operational Manager Dedy Kurniawan (DK) as suspects. On 26 February 2026, the KPK named another suspect, Budiman Bayu Prasojo (BBP), Head of the Excise Intelligence Section at the Directorate of Enforcement and Investigation of Customs. Subsequently, on 27 February 2026, the KPK revealed it was investigating allegations of corruption in excise management, following the seizure of Rp5.19 billion in cash from five suitcases at a safe house in Ciputat, South Tangerang, believed to be linked to the case. On 6 May 2026, John Field, Andri, and Dedy Kurniawan underwent their first trial as defendants. The name of Customs Director General Djaka Budi Utama then appeared in the indictment for the three defendants. In the indictment, Djaka Budi, along with Rizal, Sisprian Subiaksono, and Orlando Hamonangan, were said to have met with cargo entrepreneurs at a hotel in Jakarta in July 2025, with John Field being one of the entrepreneurs present. Then, on 20 May 2026, KPK Public Prosecutors stated that Djaka Budi Utama allegedly received bribes amounting to 213,600 Singapore dollars. On 12 June 2026, John Field admitted in court to giving money totalling up to Rp21 billion to Djaka Budi.
