Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has decided to first examine the case construction of alleged extortion involving holiday allowances (THR) within the Cilacap Regency Government, Central Java, before summoning the Cilacap Police Chief and other regional leadership forum (forkopimda) members.

“We will examine the fundamental case construction first,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Wednesday.

As a result, he stated that the KPK, as of 17 March 2026, has not yet summoned witnesses in the alleged extortion case involving inactive Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman.

“Following the KPK’s establishment of suspects in this case, we have not yet summoned witnesses to provide statements regarding the case construction,” he said.

Previously, on 13 March 2026, the KPK announced its ninth operation this year and third during Ramadan, apprehending Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman and 26 others, along with seizing cash in Indonesian currency.

On 14 March 2026, the KPK named Syamsul Auliya Rachman (AUL) and Cilacap Regional Secretary Sadmoko Danardoo (SAD) as suspects in the alleged extortion and illegal gratification case within the Cilacap Regency Government, Central Java, for the 2025–2026 fiscal year.

Syamsul Auliya targeted obtaining 750 million rupiah through extortion, divided into 515 million rupiah for the Holiday Allowance (THR) of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) of Cilacap Regency and the remainder for personal purposes. However, he had only secured 610 million rupiah before the KPK’s arrest.
