KPK Examines Borneo FC President Nabil Husien in Coal Mining Gratification Case

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has examined Borneo FC Samarinda President Nabil Husien Said Amin Al Rasyidi (NHS) as a witness in an alleged gratification case related to coal production in Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo confirmed the examination in Jakarta on Tuesday (23/6).

Budi stated that the KPK had summoned 11 other witnesses alongside Nabil Husien for questioning in the investigation. They include the Head of the Kutai Kartanegara Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency Sukotjo, Kutai Kartanegara Regional Secretary Sunggono, AUL a civil servant at the Kutai Kartanegara BPKAD, CIC a civil servant at the East Kalimantan Energy and Mineral Resources Office, DID the President Director of PT Bara Kumala Sakti, housewives INN and NYA, as well as private individuals IBA, HAR, KUS, and MSA.

The alleged gratification case originated from the naming of Kutai Kartanegara Regent Rita Widyasari, President Director of PT Sawit Golden Prima Hery Susanto Gun, and Commissioner of PT Media Bangun Bersama Khairudin as suspects on 28 September 2017. Rita was suspected of receiving Rp6 billion in bribes related to the granting of a plantation location permit to PT Sawit Golden Prima in Kupang Baru Village, Muara Kaman District.

In January 2018, the KPK again named Rita and Khairudin as suspects in a money laundering case. The KPK seized 91 vehicles, five plots of land covering thousands of square metres, and 30 luxury watches from various brands in connection with that case.

On 19 February 2025, the KPK revealed the alleged receipt of funds by Rita from the coal mining sector, valued at approximately 5 US dollars per metric tonne of coal. On 19 February 2026, the KPK named three corporations as suspects in the alleged gratification case related to coal production in Kutai Kartanegara: PT Sinar Kumala Naga, PT Alamjaya Barapratama, and PT Bara Kumala Sakti.
