KPK examines Acting Mayor of Madiun to probe Maidi's CSR fund requests

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) examined the Acting Mayor of Madiun or Deputy Mayor Bagus Panuntun on 11 May 2026, to deepen the investigation into the request for corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds by Maidi during his tenure as Mayor of Madiun.

“The witness was questioned about his knowledge regarding the processes of planning and requesting CSR funds carried out by the suspect, the Mayor of Madiun, to private parties,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta on Monday (11/5) evening.

Budi explained that the private parties from whom Maidi requested CSR funds were those related to the execution of projects within the Madiun City Government in East Java.

Previously, on 19 January 2026, the KPK conducted a sting operation (OTT) against Maidi related to allegations of receiving project-related rewards and CSR funds in Madiun City.

A day later, the KPK named three individuals as suspects, namely Maidi, Rochim Ruhdiyanto as Maidi’s trusted aide, and the Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning Department of Madiun City, Thariq Megah.

The KPK revealed that there are two case clusters in the matter, namely allegations of extortion related to project rewards and CSR funds, as well as allegations of receiving gratifications within the Madiun City Government.

First, allegations of extortion with suspects Maidi and Rochim Ruhdiyanto. Second, allegations of gratifications with suspects Maidi and Thariq Megah.
