The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) examined Acting Mayor (Plt) of Madiun Bagus Panuntun as a witness in the case of alleged extortion in the guise of project fees and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds, as well as other receipts or gratuities within the Madiun City Government, on Monday (11/5).

In addition to Bagus, the KPK also scheduled examinations for Acting Head of the Transportation Department of Madiun City Agus Mursidi and Secretary of the Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Department of Madiun City Agus Tri Tjahjanto.

“In the continuation of the Madiun case investigation, today the investigators examined three witnesses, namely BP as Acting Mayor of Madiun, AM as Acting Head of Transportation, and ATT as Secretary of PUPR,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in a written statement on Monday (11/5).

“All three have arrived at the KPK Merah Putih building and are currently being examined by the investigators,” he added.

This examination is to complete the case file for suspects including the inactive Mayor of Madiun Maidi, Maidi’s trusted aide Rochim Ruhdiyanto, and Head of the Public Works Department of Madiun City Thariq Megah.

They have already been detained to undergo further investigation processes.

The case implicating Maidi and his associates was uncovered by the KPK through a Handcuff Operation (OTT) conducted in January 2026.

The KPK found and seized evidence of cash amounting to Rp550 million in that covert operation.

From the OTT, the KPK also uncovered allegations of corruption involving demands for fees for issuing permits within the Madiun City Government to business actors such as hotels, minimarkets, and franchises.

In the ongoing investigation process, the KPK has already searched many locations, including Maidi’s private residence, Thariq’s private residence, the Mayor’s Office, and several departmental offices in Madiun City.

Numerous pieces of evidence related to the case, such as documents and cash, were successfully seized.
