KPK examines Abdul Wahid's aide as suspect in alleged extortion case

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) examined Marjani (MJN), the aide to the inactive Riau Governor Abdul Wahid, as a suspect in the alleged extortion case within the Riau Provincial Government.

“The examination took place at the KPK’s Red and White Building under the name MJN as the Riau Governor’s aide,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Monday.

According to KPK records, Marjani arrived at the KPK’s Red and White Building at 08:16 WIB.

However, Budi did not provide further details on whether Marjani would be detained immediately on Monday or not.

Previously, on 3 November 2025, the KPK confirmed the arrest of Riau Governor Abdul Wahid and eight others in a hand-catching operation.

On 4 November 2025, the KPK announced that Riau Governor’s Special Advisor Dani M. Nursalam surrendered to the anti-corruption agency.

On 5 November 2025, the KPK announced the designation of Riau Governor Abdul Wahid (AW), Head of the Riau Public Works, Spatial Planning, Housing, Settlements, and Land Agency (PUPRPKPP) M. Arief Setiawan (MAS), and Riau Governor’s Special Advisor Dani M. Nursalam (DAN) as suspects in the alleged corruption case related to extortion within the Riau Provincial Government for the 2025 fiscal year.

Some time later, on 9 March 2026, the KPK announced that it had designated Abdul Wahid’s aide, Marjani (MJN), as a suspect in the case.
