KPK Examines 7 Village Heads in Connection with Sudewo Case
Jakarta, VIVA – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has summoned seven village heads as witnesses in connection with the alleged extortion case ensnaring former Pati Regent Sudewo.
KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that the seven village heads underwent examination at the Sumber Police Sector in Rembang, Central Java.
“The examination took place at the Sumber Police Sector, Rembang Regency, Central Java, involving YE as Village Head of Sidomukti, STO as Village Head of Ronggo, HO as Village Head of Sriwedari, SO as Village Head of Sumberejo, GA as Village Head of Tamansari, DW as Village Head of Trikoyo, and SDD as Village Head of Sidoluhur,” Budi told reporters, as reported by ANTARA on Wednesday, 22 April 2026.
Furthermore, Budi said the KPK has summoned several other parties, including private individuals, housewives, and farmers with initials MJM, DP, SI, NF, NS, MA, SSYO, NNN, EH, AW, PMN, SN, JL, RES, and NU.
Previously, on 19 January 2026, the KPK conducted a sting operation (OTT) against Sudewo in Pati Regency, Central Java.
The following day, the KPK brought Sudewo along with seven others to the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta to undergo the investigation process.
On 20 January 2026, the KPK named four suspects in the alleged extortion case related to the filling of village apparatus positions in Pati Regency.
They are Sudewo, Village Head of Karangrowo Abdul Suyono, Village Head of Arumanis Sumarjiono, and Village Head of Sukorukun Karjan.
In addition, Sudewo has been named a suspect in an alleged bribery case for the construction and maintenance project of the railway line within the Directorate General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation.
