In connection with the corruption case involving the suspended Regent of Pekalongan, Fadia Arafiq, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducted examinations of several officials, former officials, and civil servants (ASN) in the Pekalongan Regency Government on Tuesday (7/4).

Media Indonesia monitoring on Tuesday (7/4) showed that several officials, former officials, and civil servants (ASN) from the Pekalongan Regency Government (Pemkab) arrived at the Pekalongan City Police Station. Upon arrival around 09:40 WIB, they immediately entered one of the rooms following a summons for examination by the anti-corruption agency.

Although the exact material of the examination of these Pekalongan Regency Government officials is not yet known for certain, they came to the Pekalongan City Police Station to be questioned by the KPK regarding the corruption case ensnaring the suspended Regent of Pekalongan, Fadia Arafiq, who is now detained in the KPK detention centre in Jakarta.

  7. Acting Head of the Cooperatives, SMEs, and Manpower Department (Dinkop-UMKM and Naker) of Pekalongan Regency, Argo Yudho Ismoyo

“It is true, today there is an examination by the KPK borrowing our room, estimated to continue for several days ahead,” said the Head of Pekalongan City Police, AKBP Riki Yariandi.

Regarding the material of the examination of several ASN from Pemkab Pekalongan, according to Riki Yariandi, it is not known for certain because that is the authority of the KPK investigators, including who has been summoned, which also cannot be known. “We are only providing the venue and securing it for the smooth running of the examination process,” he added.

Meanwhile, as is known, Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq was arrested by KPK officers while in Semarang on Saturday (3/3). After being brought to Jakarta along with several officials from Pemkab Pekalongan for examination related to alleged corruption, she was subsequently designated as a suspect and detained.

The suspended Regent of Pekalongan, Fadia Arafiq, is charged with committing the criminal act of corruption as regulated in Article 12 letter i and Article 12 of Law No. 31 of 1999 on the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law No. 20 of 2001 on Amendments to Law No. 31 of 1999 on the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption jo. Article 127 paragraph (1) of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code (KUHP).
