KPK Examines 6 Witnesses to Finalise Case File Against Suspect Anwar Sadad
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) questioned six witnesses to complete the case file against suspect Anwar Sadad in a suspected corruption case involving the management of community group (Pokmas) grants from the East Java Provincial Regional Budget (APBD) for the 2021-2022 fiscal year on Tuesday (26/5).
Anwar Sadad is a Gerindra Party member. He is a former Deputy Speaker of the East Java Provincial Legislative Council (DPRD) and currently serves as a member of Commission XIII in the national House of Representatives (DPR RI).
“All witnesses attended. The questioning of witnesses concerning suspect AS focused on the management of funds and implementation of Pokmas activities,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in a written statement on Tuesday (26/5).
The witnesses were examined by the KPK at Probolinggo City Police Station. They include Najiburrahman (Administrator/Representative of Bunga Tanjung Foundation); Multazam Hairul Anam (Administrator/Representative of Darul Ulum Paiton Foundation (MI Darul Ulum Paiton)); and Zainal Muttaqin (Administrator/Representative of Nurul Hasan Islamic Boarding School).
Also, Abd Hayyi (Private individual/Chair of Nyiur Jaya Pokmas); Samsul Arifin (Private individual/Chair of Sejahtera Berkarya Pokmas); and Sugiono (Private individual/Chair of Ikmarish Pokmas).
The KPK has named a total of 21 suspects in the suspected corruption case involving the management of Pokmas grants from the East Java Provincial Regional Budget for the 2021-2022 fiscal year.
Four suspects are alleged to have received bribes: former East Java DPRD Chair Kusnadi; former East Java DPRD Deputy Chair Anwar Sadad and Achmad Iskandar; and Anwar Sadad’s staff member Bagus Wahyudiono.
They are charged under Article 5(1)(a) or (b) or Article 13 of the Corruption Eradication Law (UU Tipikor) in conjunction with Article 55(1)(1) of the Criminal Code (KUHP).
The other 17 suspects are alleged bribe givers: East Java DPRD member Mahud (2019-2024); Sampang Regency DPRD Deputy Chair and member Fauzan Adima (2019-2024); Probolinggo Regency DPRD Deputy Chair and member Jon Junaidi (2019-2024); private individuals from Sampang Regency named Ahmad Heriyadi, Ahmad Affandy, and Abdul Motollib.
Then, private individuals from Probolinggo Regency who are now East Java DPRD members for 2024-2029 Moch Mahrus; private individuals from Tulungagung named A. Royan and Wawan Kristiawan; former village head from Tulungagung Regency Sukar; private individuals from Bangkalan Regency named Ra Wahid Ruslan and Mashudi.
Then, private individuals from Pasuruan Regency named M. Fathullah and Achmad Yahya; private individuals from Sumenep Regency named Ahmad Jailani; private individuals from Gresik Regency who are now East Java DPRD members for 2024-2029 Hasanuddin; private individuals from Blitar Regency named Jodi Pradana Putra.
Recently, the KPK halted proceedings against suspect Kusnadi following his death.
