The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has examined 14 witnesses in a case of alleged extortion involving non-active Regent of Pati Sudewo. The examination was conducted to investigate allegations of cash transfers ordered by the regent through village coordinators.

“Witnesses were questioned regarding cash transfers ordered by the Regent through village coordinators,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo, as reported by Antara on Friday (27 February).

Additionally, the witnesses were also questioned about the process and mechanism for filling village apparatus positions in 2026 in Pati Regency, Central Java.

The 14 witnesses comprised UNM as a candidate for Village Secretary of Gadu, SR as a candidate for Head of Administrative Affairs of Gadu, KUN as a candidate for Head of Planning Section of Gadu, AF as a candidate for Head of Finance Affairs of Perdopo, and SEW as a candidate for Head of Planning Section of Perdopo.

Other witnesses included ISM as Head of Purworejo Village, SUG as Head of Tambakharjo Village, AU as Head of Sumbersari Village, WI as Head of Sekarjalak Village, MZ as Head of Wonosekar Village, SUK as Head of Sumberagung Village, KUS as Head of Sumbersari Village, SUG as Head of Banyuurip Village, and EK as Head of Village Services of Sumberejo.

All witnesses were questioned at the Semarang City Police Station, Central Java, on Thursday, 26 February 2026.

Previously, on 19 January 2026, the KPK conducted a sting operation (OTT) against Sudewo in Pati Regency, Central Java. One day later, on 20 January 2026, Sudewo and seven others were brought to the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta.

On the same date, the KPK announced four suspects in a case of alleged corruption related to extortion in filling village apparatus positions within the Pati Regency Government. The four suspects were Sudewo (SDW), Head of Karangrowo Village, Jakenan District; Abdul Suyono (YON), Head of Arumanis Village, Jaken District; Sumarjiono (JION), Head of Sukorukun Village, Jaken District; and Karjan (JAN).

In addition to that case, the KPK also named Sudewo as a suspect in a case of alleged bribery concerning the construction and maintenance of railway lines within the Directorate General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation.
