KPK Examines 13 People in Jakarta Following Arrest of Tulungagung Regent
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) secured 13 people, including Tulungagung Regent Gatut Sunu Wibowo, in a sting operation (OTT) in Tulungagung Regency, East Java, on Friday (10/4). “Out of a total of 18 people examined and secured on Friday (10/4), 13 of them were subsequently brought to Jakarta today in stages,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in a statement in Jakarta on Saturday. Budi stated that besides Gatut Sunu, the other 11 people brought to Jakarta are from the Tulungagung Regency Government environment, while one more is from another party. “Subsequently, these parties will undergo further examination at the KPK’s Red and White Building,” Budi said. Budi added that, in addition to securing the parties involved, the team also secured evidence, one of which is in the form of cash. The KPK has a 1x24 hour period to determine the status of the parties arrested in the OTT in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP). On Friday (10/4), the KPK arrested 16 people in the OTT in Tulungagung, East Java, one of whom is Tulungagung Regent Gatut Sunu Wibowo, marking the tenth OTT in 2026.
