KPK Establishes Cilacap Regent as Suspect in Eid Allowance Extortion Case

Jakarta — The Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has established Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman as a suspect in an extortion case involving Eid holiday allowance (THR) funds for 2026.

In addition, Cilacap Regional Secretary (Sekda) Sadmoko Danardono has also been designated as a suspect in this case.

“The KPK has elevated this matter to the investigation stage and established two suspects, namely AUL in his capacity as Cilacap Regent for the 2025-2030 period and SAD as Regional Secretary of Cilacap Regency,” stated KPK Deputy for Enforcement and Execution Asep Guntur Rahayu during a press conference at KPK’s Red and White Building on Saturday, 14 March 2026.

According to Syamsul’s calculations, THR for external parties required IDR 515 million. However, he set a target of collecting THR funds totalling IDR 750 million.

The THR funds were collected from each regional government work unit (SKPD) in Cilacap. Furthermore, 47 SKPDs in Cilacap were also requested to collect THR funds for Syamsul’s personal needs.

Until the arrest operation was conducted, the THR funds collected had reached IDR 610 million.

Syamsul and Sadmoko were immediately detained at KPK detention facilities for the next 20 days.
