The Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK, Asep Guntur Rahayu, met with the Head of the Indonesian National Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortas Tipikor), Inspector General Totok Suharyanto. The meeting aimed to strengthen coordination in handling several corruption cases.

Asep Guntur was accompanied by the KPK’s Director of Investigation, Tessa Mahardhika Sugiarto. He stated that the meeting had been scheduled as part of efforts to coordinate among law enforcement institutions.

“We were scheduled to meet with Mr Kortas along with our team and staff. This is certainly coordination regarding case handling,” Asep Guntur told reporters after the meeting at the National Police Headquarters in South Jakarta on Thursday (2/4/2026).

He explained that handling corruption crimes cannot be done by one institution alone. According to him, synergy between the KPK, Polri, and the Attorney General’s Office is crucial.

“Corruption crimes cannot be handled by just one institution. Of course, we—both the KPK, Polri, the prosecutor’s office, and supported by other stakeholders—handle corruption crimes together,” he clarified.

Asep also revealed that the meeting discussed several cases currently in the initial communication stage. However, he could not yet disclose details of those cases to the public.

“There are several cases that we are communicating about, but since this is still the early stage, we cannot disclose them now,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of Kortas Tipikor Polri, Inspector General Totok Suharyanto, stated that the meeting aimed to enhance coordination and synergy between Kortas Tipikor Polri and the KPK.

“The meeting is intended to improve coordination and synergy between Kortas and the KPK regarding several case handlings,” Totok revealed.
