KPK Discusses Summoning Perry Warjiyo, Confirms BI CSR Case Still Under Investigation
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has spoken about the possibility of summoning former Bank Indonesia (BI) Governor Perry Warjiyo, emphasising that the investigation into the alleged corruption of BI’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds is still ongoing. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated on Wednesday (29/7/2026) that a witness will be summoned if investigators require their testimony.
“The summoning of a witness is based on the needs of the investigation. The principle is to help uncover the case, to obtain information about what they know,” Budi said. He added that the fact that someone has stepped down from their position does not automatically mean they will be questioned. “Let’s follow the developments together, because the investigation is still ongoing. The KPK will certainly uncover this case as clearly as possible, including the actions of the related parties, as it is important to capture the root of the problem completely,” he stated.
In this case, the KPK has named Satori and Heri Gunawan as suspects. Both were members of the House of Representatives’ Commission XI at the time the alleged corruption occurred. The case is suspected to have started after BI and the Financial Services Authority (OJK) agreed to provide CSR programme funds to each member of Commission XI. After the funds were disbursed, Satori and Heri allegedly did not use the money in accordance with the regulations.
The KPK has also searched the BI building, including the office of the then-Governor Perry Warjiyo, in December 2024. Perry confirmed the search at the time, stating that BI respected the legal process and was cooperating with the KPK’s investigation. The KPK has also seized a car worth IDR 1 billion from Fitri Assiddikki, which was allegedly purchased by Heri.
Perry Warjiyo has officially resigned from his position. Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi confirmed that President Prabowo Subianto had received and accepted the resignation letter, thanking Warjiyo for his nearly seven years of service.
