KPK Detains West Lombok Regent and Two Other Suspects After Questioning
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has detained West Lombok Regent Lalu Ahmad Zaini along with two other suspects after they underwent questioning at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta on Tuesday. The three suspects were apprehended during a sting operation on Monday, which also resulted in the seizure of evidence valued at Rp9.06 billion. The case involves alleged corruption in the form of conflicts of interest in the procurement of goods and services, bribery related to procurement, and gratuities within the West Lombok Regency Government in West Nusa Tenggara Province. The other two suspects are Sudirman, President Director of the regional water company PT Air Minum Giri Menang Lombok Barat, and Alvonsus Gani, President Director of Meconel Sistim Instrument.
