The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) detained two people on Thursday after conducting a sting operation (OTT) targeting several BPK employees. The operation was a continuation of the bribery case involving the inactive Muara Enim Regent, Edison. The two suspects, seen wearing orange vests at the KPK building in South Jakarta, were immediately escorted to a detention vehicle. The detainees are Titin, a civil servant (ASN) at BPK, and Angga, a private sector worker. The KPK previously arrested five individuals, also identified as BPK civil servants, in the extended investigation of the Edison case. The anti-graft body stated that this operation is linked to the procurement of a ‘smart board’ project in Muara Enim. ‘So far, it is related to covering up BPK findings regarding procurements within the Muara Enim Regency Government, one of which is the smart TV procurement,’ KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo said on Wednesday. The KPK suspects that bribes were given by the Muara Enim Regency Government to BPK officials, though the exact amount of money transferred has not yet been disclosed. ‘In total, there are 11 parties who have been secured. Six people were also secured in yesterday’s arrest incident, and five more are new parties secured in this latest sting operation. These five people are civil servants from the Supreme Audit Agency,’ he clarified. The KPK had previously detained four individuals in the bribery case involving Regent Edison: Muara Enim Regent Edison; the 2026 Secretary of the Education and Culture Office, Abi Nurwardani; the regent’s nephew, Adi Triyadi; and a marketing officer from PT Millenium Solusi Abadi, Cory Erin Hardi.
