KPK Detains Second Wife of Kuansing Regent During OTT

The second wife of Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing) Regent Suhardiman Amby (SA), Suci Nitia Edwar, was briefly detained by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) during a sting operation (OTT) in Kuansing. KPK investigators encountered Suci while searching for Suhardiman at the regent’s official residence. “The second wife was indeed detained by the field team because when they went to SA’s house, she was the one there as a witness in this case,” said Achmad Taufik, Acting Director of KPK Investigations, during a press conference at the KPK building in South Jakarta on Wednesday (1/7/2026).

Investigators also had prior information that Suci was the user of a Mitsubishi Pajero Sport worth IDR 700 million, an asset allegedly obtained from Zulkarnain (ZKN), the Regional Secretary of Kuansing. “It is true that the second wife of the Regent was also detained by the team because the Pajero Sport vehicle was used by the Regent’s second wife,” Taufik explained. The KPK will continue to examine her to determine the extent of her involvement and will further investigate how the vehicle was received.

The case began with the selection process for the Regional Secretary of Kuansing in April 2025. Suhardiman Amby allegedly requested a Toyota Land Cruiser worth IDR 2.05 billion from Zulkarnain in exchange for the position. Zulkarnain subsequently purchased the vehicle on credit and was appointed as Regional Secretary. The KPK has named three suspects: Suhardiman Amby, Zulkarnain, and Ardiles, the Director of PT MIC.
