KPK Detains Rejang Lebong Regent Muhammad Fikri
JAKARTA — The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has detained Rejang Lebong Regent Muhammad Fikri Thobari following his designation as a suspect in connection with an alleged bribery case involving projects within the Rejang Lebong municipal government on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.
“Yes, the Rejang Lebong Regent has been detained,” stated KPK Deputy for Enforcement and Execution Asep Guntur Rahayu at the Jakarta South District Court on Tuesday.
Asep noted that the detention followed the KPK’s establishment of suspect status for five individuals within a 24-hour period.
Fikri and four other suspects were apprehended during a sting operation conducted in Bengkulu on Monday evening.
“The KPK has designated five individuals as suspects in this closed investigation activity,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the Red and White Building in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Budi stated that among the five designated suspects are three alleged bribe-givers and two alleged bribe-recipients.
“All of the nine individuals currently secured and brought to the KPK Red and White Building are undergoing intensive questioning during the investigation stage,” he added.
