KPK Detains Rejang Lebong Regent

The KPK has established M Fikri Thobari, Regent of Rejang Lebong, as a suspect and formally detained him. Fikri was brought to detention on Wednesday, 11 March 2026, wearing an orange detention uniform with his hands shackled.

However, the KPK has not yet disclosed detailed information regarding the case construction against Fikri. The full details will be presented during a scheduled press conference.

The KPK previously established five suspects in connection with a covert operation (OTT) in Rejang Lebong, Bengkulu. M Fikri Thobari, the Regent of Rejang Lebong, is among these suspects.

“Regarding investigative activities in the Bengkulu region, an exposure was conducted this afternoon at the leadership level, and legal status decisions have been made for the individuals apprehended. The KPK has established five suspects in these covert investigative activities,” KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo told reporters at KPK headquarters in South Jakarta on Tuesday, 10 March.

Budi did not provide details about the identities of the four other suspects, though he indicated that three of them were money providers.

“The five individuals established as suspects comprise three as money providers and two as money receivers,” he explained.
