KPK Detains Former MPR Secretary General Ma'ruf Cahyono
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has detained former People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) Secretary General Ma’ruf Cahyono. Ma’ruf was detained after being questioned as a suspect in a graft case. He was seen wearing an orange KPK detainee vest and was handcuffed before being taken to a detention centre. Ma’ruf is a suspect in a case concerning alleged gratuities related to procurement at the MPR. The KPK suspects Ma’ruf received IDR 17 billion. The anti-graft body has not yet detailed the full construction of the case.
