KPK Detains East Java Council Member in Community Grant Fund Case

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has again detained a suspect in the alleged bribery case related to community group grants (pokmas) in East Java Province for the 2019-2022 period. Today, the KPK detained Moch Mahrus, a member of the East Java DPRD.

Based on monitoring at the KPK building in Kuningan, Jakarta, on Tuesday (28/7/2026), Mahrus came down from the KPK examination room at around 17.25 WIB. He was already wearing an orange KPK detainee vest with his hands cuffed.

Mahrus made no comment as he was escorted to the detention vehicle. He will be detained for the next 20 days.

Previously, on Wednesday (22/7), the KPK had detained three new suspects. These three individuals are alleged to be the givers in the case.

With this latest detention, a total of eight suspects have now been taken into custody. The list of the eight detainees is as follows: 1.) Hasanuddin (HAS), a member of the East Java DPRD for the 2024-2029 period or a private party from Gresik Regency; 2). Jodi Pradana Putra (JPP), a private party from Blitar Regency; 3). Sukar (SUK), a former village head from Tulungagung Regency; 4). Wawan Kristiawan (WK), a private party from Tulungagung; 5). Achmad Yahya M (AY), a private party; 6). M Fathullah (MF), a private party; 7). Ra. Wahid Ruslan (RWR), a private party; 8). Moch Mahrus, a member of the East Java DPRD.

For context, the KPK has named a total of 21 suspects in this case concerning the management of community group grants from the East Java Provincial Budget (APBD) for the 2019-2022 fiscal years. The naming of these suspects is a development from a case that previously ensnared former East Java DPRD Deputy Speaker Sahat Tua Simanjuntak.
