KPK Detains 17 Individuals in West Jakarta Immigration Sting: Former Acting Director General and West Java Regional Head Among Those Held

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has detained 17 individuals in connection with a sting operation (OTT) at the West Jakarta Immigration Office. Among those detained is Saffar Godam, the Acting Director General of Immigration for the 2024-2025 period.

“It is true that the Acting Director General of Immigration for 2024-2025 is among those detained in this activity. His initials are G (Saffar Godam),” stated KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists at the KPK Building, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (3/6/2026).

Furthermore, Budi mentioned that the KPK also detained Jaya Saputra, the Regional Head (Kakanwil) of the Directorate General of Immigration for West Java. He was apprehended alongside eight state officials and civil servants, as well as nine private sector individuals.

“Two private sector individuals were detained in Bali, while one civil servant, the West Java Regional Head of Immigration, was detained in West Java. The other parties were detained in Jakarta and its surrounding areas,” he explained.

Budi revealed that the KPK will conduct a case review tonight. The commission has 24 hours to determine who will be officially named as suspects in the case.

“Tonight, the KPK will conduct an exposé to determine the legal status of the detained parties. We must wait to see who will be designated as suspects following this caught-in-the-act event,” he said.

Additionally, the KPK is currently searching for the Deputy Minister of Immigration and Correctional Services, Silmy Karim, in relation to the sting operation involving West Jakarta Immigration officials. It is reported that Silmy is believed to be in the Jakarta area.

“The latest information we have received indicates that SK (Silmy Karim) is in Jakarta and the surrounding area. Therefore, we urge the individual concerned to be cooperative to assist in the handling of this case,” said Budi.

Budi noted that the KPK is still investigating Silmy Karim’s role in the matter and has requested that he surrender himself to the authorities.

“We are still tracing information regarding this matter, and the team certainly requires the presence and testimony of the individual concerned. Therefore, we urge him to be cooperative, perhaps by surrendering to the KPK, to assist in the legal process,” he added.

Separately, the Minister of Immigration and Correctional Services, Agus Andrianto, stated that he is aware of the sting operation and respects the ongoing legal process.

“We respect the ongoing legal process; our direction is clear,” said Agus.
