KPK Designates Five Suspects from Sting Operation in Bengkulu, Including Rejang Lebong Regent

The Anti-Corruption Commission (KPK) has designated five suspects in a sting operation (OTT) conducted in Rejang Lebong, Bengkulu. Among the suspects is Rejang Lebong Regent Muhammad Fikri Thobari.

“Regarding the closed investigation activities in the Bengkulu region, an exposure was carried out this afternoon at the leadership level and legal status decisions were made for the parties apprehended, whereby the KPK designated five individuals as suspects in the closed investigation,” KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo told reporters at KPK headquarters in South Jakarta on Tuesday (10 March 2026).

Budi has not yet detailed the identities of the four other suspects. However, he confirmed that three of them are money providers.

“The five individuals designated as suspects consist of three as money providers and two as recipients,” he explained.

“Yes, one of them is Rejang Lebong Regent Muhammad Fikri Thobari,” he added.

Budi further stated that a total of nine individuals were apprehended and brought to the KPK. They are still undergoing intensive examination during the investigation phase.

In this sting operation, the KPK seized a number of pieces of evidence. They secured a quantity of cash and documents.
