KPK Designates Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman as Suspect in Eid Holiday Allowance Extortion Case

Jakarta — The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has designated Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman as a suspect in an extortion case involving funds for the 2026 Eid holiday allowance (THR). Additionally, Cilacap Regional Secretary Sadmoko Danardono has also been designated as a suspect in the case.

“The KPK escalated this case to the investigation stage and designated two suspects: AUL as Cilacap Regent for the 2025-2030 term and SAD as Cilacap Regency Regional Secretary,” stated KPK Deputy for Prosecution and Execution Asep Guntur Rahayu during a press conference at the KPK’s Red and White Building on Saturday (14 March 2026).

According to Syamsul’s calculation, the external holiday allowance required IDR 515 million. However, he targeted collecting IDR 750 million in holiday allowance funds. This money was drawn from each regional government work unit (SKPD) operating in Cilacap. Beyond that, all 47 SKPDs in Cilacap were also requested to collect holiday allowance funds for Syamsul’s personal needs.

By the time of the operation, holiday allowance funds that had been collected totalled IDR 610 million. Syamsul and Sadmoko were immediately detained at the KPK detention facility for the next 20 days.
