KPK Designates Cilacap Regent and Regional Secretary as Suspects in Eid Allowance Case

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has designated Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman and Regional Secretary Sadmoko Danardono as suspects in a corruption case involving the collection of Eid allowances (THR) for Eid al-Fitr 2026 on Saturday, 14 March.

Both officials were designated as suspects following their apprehension in a sting operation the previous day. KPK Deputy for Prosecution and Execution Asep Guntur Rahayu stated at the agency’s headquarters in Jakarta: “The KPK has escalated this case to the investigation stage and designated two suspects: the Regent of Cilacap for the 2025-2030 term and the Regional Secretary of Cilacap Regency.”

The pair are accused of violating Article 12(e) and/or Article 12B of Law No. 31 of 1999 on the Eradication of Corruption Offences as amended by Law No. 20 of 2001, in conjunction with Article 20(c) of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code.

According to the KPK, Syamsul ordered Regional Secretary Sadmoko to collect funds ostensibly for Eid allowances. The collected money was intended for both personal use and distribution to the Forum of Regional Government Communications (Forkopimda) within the Cilacap Regency administration.

Funds were collected from all district government agencies in Cilacap Regency, with individual contributions ranging from Rp75 million to Rp100 million, with a total target of Rp750 million.
