Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has delivered recommendations from its mining governance study to ministries and government agencies under President Prabowo Subianto's administration.

BKPM Secretary Minister Heldy Satrya Putera revealed that the KPK had issued several recommendations to BKPM regarding mining sector governance.

"The first recommendation concerns how we monitor all business activities to ensure they hold permits in accordance with prevailing regulations," said Heldy at a KPK press conference held this afternoon at the KPK building.

The second recommendation addresses how BKPM can serve as a facilitator for businesses experiencing difficulties in obtaining permits. "Where business activities face difficulties in permit processing, we will coordinate accordingly," he said.

The third and fourth KPK recommendations relate to the acceleration of permit processing and oversight. "The third concerns expediting the business permitting process itself. The fourth addresses cases where, during oversight, activities are found to be misusing permits or operating without permits."

Heldy also stated that in the event of violations, BKPM would provide guidance and would even revoke permits if deemed necessary.

BKPM itself held discussions with the KPK aimed at enhancing its monitoring function to optimise state revenue. "At the same time, this also serves as a monitoring aspect for business operators' compliance with prevailing regulations, as well as monitoring to optimise state revenue," he said.

Heldy added that BKPM is the ministry responsible for handling permits through a system known as Online Single Submission (OSS). The OSS system manages permits from 22 ministries and government agencies.
