KPK Declares Prevention Aspect of Raja Juli's Envelope Report Closed, Criminal Probe Continues
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confirmed that the handling of the gratuity report filed by Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni has been completed on the prevention side. However, KPK investigators are still probing the alleged criminal offence related to the case.
KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that the gratuity report regarding an envelope given by Kuantan Singingi Regent Suhardiman Amby to Minister Raja Juli Antoni has been closed by the Directorate of Gratuities and Public Services. “So, on the prevention side, the gratuity report made by the Minister of Forestry is case closed,” Budi said on Thursday, 16 July 2026.
He stressed that the conclusion of the prevention aspect does not halt the legal process currently underway at the investigation stage. Investigators are still probing the connection between the envelope and a corruption case being handled in Kuantan Singingi Regency.
In the case construction, investigators suspect the money in the envelope originated from funds collected from various parties. The KPK is therefore investigating the purpose, motive, and the party who initiated the handover. “The purpose, objective, and whose initiative it was, the motive behind it, all of it will be investigated by the investigators,” Budi explained.
The KPK has completed the verification and analysis of the report submitted by Raja Juli Antoni, but cannot disclose the contents or conclusions of the analysis to the public. Budi confirmed that the results have been communicated to the minister and that the analysis was conducted in accordance with KPK Regulation Number 1 of 2026, specifically Article 14.
