KPK Continues Search of House in BTN Mavilla, West Lombok
Mataram (ANTARA) - A team of investigators from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) continued a search of a house in BTN Mavilla Rengganis, West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara, on Friday, after suspended West Lombok Regent Lalu Ahmad Zaini was named a suspect.
According to ANTARA’s observations, five KPK investigators carrying suitcases entered the house on Jalan Mars at around 10.50 local time (Wita).
A number of Mobile Brigade (Brimob) personnel from the NTB Regional Police secured the area outside the house, which is believed to be one of the addresses of the office of CV Dyas Karya Konstruksi (DKK).
The KPK team in the field has yet to provide any explanation regarding the connection between the house numbered B.93 in RT 2 and the case involving Lalu Ahmad Zaini.
Meanwhile, a local resident named Ernawati, the wife of the RT 2 neighbourhood head, said she did not know who occupied the house.
“The house used to be empty; it was only renovated less than a year ago. I don’t know if anyone is living there because nobody reported it to our house,” she said, adding that her husband was out teaching as a lecturer at the Mataram University campus.
In addition to the search at BTN Mavilla Rengganis, the KPK team simultaneously conducted a search in the Jogot Madani Residence housing complex in Bagek Polak, West Lombok Regency.
A similar search was carried out at a house reportedly owned by Lalu Ratnawi, Head of the West Lombok Public Works, Spatial Planning, Housing and Settlement Areas Office (PUPRPKP).
During the previous day’s operation, the anti-graft agency also seized a number of valuable assets believed to be connected to the suspect status of suspended West Lombok Regent Lalu Ahmad Zaini.
Documents were also seized from searches at the West Lombok Regent’s office, the West Lombok PUPRPKP Office, and the regent’s pavilion.
From field observations, the KPK also sealed two four-wheeled vehicles: a metallic green Honda HR-V and a black Chevrolet Trailblazer, both of which remain parked in the garage of the West Lombok Regent’s pavilion.
A number of items were also taken from searches of two houses owned by Lalu Ahmad Zaini, numbered M.18 and P.1 on Jalan Mutiara, BTN Belencong, West Lombok Regency.
A black Toyota Alphard was seized at the time of Lalu Ahmad Zaini’s arrest on Monday (20/7).
The luxury vehicle remains in the custody of the NTB Mobile Brigade Command Headquarters in Mataram.
KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo, contacted via a WhatsApp message on Friday, confirmed the continuation of search activities by the team on Lombok Island.
“Yes, that’s correct,” he said.
