KPK Continues Investigation into Customs Bribery Case, Summons Blueray Cargo Executives

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has commenced further examinations of three PT Blueray Cargo executives: John Field, Deddy Kurniawan Sukolo, and Andri. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo confirmed the investigation is a development of a corruption case related to customs and excise at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC).

In addition to the three company executives, the KPK also summoned two other witnesses. They are Vini Leveri Vie, a staff member from PT Blueray Cargo’s HR and finance department, and Yohanes Setiawan, a personal assistant to John Field. Another witness, Akhmad Fikri Yahmani, who serves as the Head of the Pensions and Termination Subdivision at the DJBC Central Office, was also called for questioning. All examinations are being conducted at the KPK’s Merah Putih building.

KPK’s Acting Director of Investigation, Achmad Taufik Husein, stated that the anti-graft body has issued two new investigation warrants based on the development of the importation corruption case. One warrant targets a new suspect within the customs authority cluster, while the second is a general warrant pending the identification of a suspect once sufficient evidence is gathered.

This case originated from a sting operation. Three executives from PT Blueray Cargo have already been convicted for their roles as bribe givers. John Field received a 3-year prison sentence and a fine of Rp 300 million, while Deddy Kurniawan Sukolo and Andri were each sentenced to 2.5 years in prison and fined Rp 200 million. Meanwhile, three customs officials—Rizal, Sisprian Subiaksono, and Orlando Hamonangan Sianipar—are currently on trial for accepting bribes and gratuities totalling Rp 78.8 billion. Another official, Budiman Bayu Prasojo, is set to face his first trial on 28 July 2026 for allegedly accepting Rp 5.7 billion in gratuities.
