KPK confirms death of corruption suspect Siman Bahar
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confirmed that Siman Bahar, a suspect in the alleged corruption case involving the cooperation between PT Aneka Tambang or Antam (Persero) and PT Loco Montrado in 2017, has passed away.
“Indeed, this morning and earlier today we also discussed that the individual in question has passed away,” stated Acting Director of Investigation at the KPK, Achmad Taufik Husein, at the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta on Monday evening.
Achmad explained that the KPK is now preparing to issue a termination of investigation order (SP3) against Siman Bahar.
In the process, he said, the KPK first requires a death certificate and several other necessary documents until the SP3 is issued.
Previously, on 17 January 2023, the KPK named Dody Martimbang, the former General Manager of the Precious Metals Refining and Processing Business Unit at PT Antam, as a suspect in the case.
On another occasion, the KPK named Siman Bahar, the President Director of Loco Montrado, as a suspect in the case, which is alleged to have harmed state finances by up to Rp100.7 billion.
On 14 October 2025, the KPK announced that it had named PT Loco Montrado as a corporate suspect in the case since August 2025.
