KPK Confirms 'Action' in Bolaang Mongondow; Is the Regent Implicated?

The Regent of North Bolaang Mongondow, North Sulawesi Province, Sirajudin Lasena, is rumoured to have been caught in a sting operation (OTT) by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). The KPK has confirmed that there is ongoing action regarding the case.

“It is true, there is activity currently taking place in the field,” said KPK Chairman Setyo Budianto on Monday.

The KPK is also reported to have apprehended several parties allegedly linked to suspected corruption in North Mongondow. According to circulating information, some of those caught in the sting are undergoing intensive interrogation before their legal status is determined within 24 hours.

Regarding the news of the sting operation, KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo is still attempting to verify the circulating reports. The KPK has not yet provided clear information.
