“It is true,” stated KPK Deputy Chairman Fitroh Rohcahyanto when asked for confirmation on Wednesday (3/6/2026).

Separately, the Minister of Immigration and Correctional Services, Agus Andrianto, admitted to being aware of the sting operation. He expressed respect for the ongoing legal process.

“We respect the legal process currently underway; our direction is clear,” said Agus.

Head of West Jakarta Immigration Office Caught in Sting

KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo explained that the sting operation took place in West Jakarta, as well as in West Java and Bali. A total of over a dozen individuals were detained, including the Head of the West Jakarta Immigration Office.

“One of them is [the Head of West Jakarta Immigration],” said Budi.

“In terms of progress, over a dozen people have been detained in this series of sting operations. Evidence seized includes vehicles, cars, motorcycles, as well as cash in the form of USD and SGD, and precious metals such as gold,” he added.

The sting operation is related to allegations of bribery concerning the administrative process for foreign nationals seeking to reside in Indonesia. However, the detailed construction of the case will be explained by the KPK during a subsequent press conference.

“This sting operation is related to the process of managing foreign nationals’ residency in Indonesia. As we know, for a foreign national to reside in Indonesia, there are KITAP (Permanent Stay Permits) and KITAS (Limited Stay Permits). It was within the process of managing these [permits] that the incident occurred,” said Budi.
