Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradancy Commission (KPK) has conducted its eleventh sting operation (OTT) of 2026 within the West Jakarta Immigration environment. “It is true, there was a sting operation at West Jakarta Immigration,” stated KPK Deputy Chairman Fitroh Rohcahyanto to ANTARA in Jakarta on Wednesday.

The KPK has a 24-hour window to determine the legal status of those detained during the operation, in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP).

Previously, the KPK commenced its first sting operation of 2026 by arresting eight individuals between 9–10 January 2026. These arrests were related to alleged bribery in tax inspections at the North Jakarta Medium Tax Office under the Directorate General of Taxes, Ministry of Finance, for the 2021–2026 period.

The second operation, on 19 January 2026, led to the arrest of the Mayor of Madiun, Maidi. The KPK named the Regent of Pekalongan, Fadia Arafiq, as the sole suspect in a corruption case related to the procurement of outsourcing services and other supplies within the Pekalongan Regency Government for the 2023–2026 fiscal year.

The eighth operation, also during Ramadan, saw the KPK announce on 10 March 2026 the arrest and subsequent designation of the Regent of Rejang Lebong, Muhammad Fikri Thobari, as a suspect in an alleged project bribery case within the Rejang Lebong Regency Government, Bengkulu, for the 2025–2026 fiscal year.

The ninth operation occurred on 13 March 2026, resulting in the arrest of the Regent of Cilacap, Syamsul Auliya Rachman. Syamsul Auliya was later named a suspect in an alleged extortion and other receipt case within the Cilacap Regency Government, Central Java, for the 2025–2026 fiscal year.

In the tenth operation, on 10 April 2026, the KPK arrested the Regent of Tulungagung, Gatut Sunu Wibowo, and 17 others. Gatut Sunu was subsequently named a suspect in an alleged extortion and other receipt case within the Tulungagung Regency Government for the 2025–2026 fiscal year.
