The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has revealed details of the case under investigation following a sting operation at the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB). The commission said the case concerns alleged corruption in the procurement of goods and services.

“The investigation is suspected to be related to the procurement of goods and services within the BNPB,” KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo told reporters in Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta, on Tuesday (13 October 2026).

Budi added that the procurement was linked to the use of disaster-response ready funds (DSP). He said further details would be provided at a press conference next Friday.

“Among the items involved are those funded by ready funds for disaster response. We will provide details at the press conference about the money and procurement, including which disaster they related to,” Budi said.

Budi also disclosed some of the evidence seized during the operation at the BNPB office. The items included cash worth Rp1.4 billion and precious metals.

“The team also seized evidence in the form of cash and gold precious metals. The team’s initial count puts the cash at around Rp1.4 billion,” Budi said.

Budi did not specify the denominations of the seized Rp1.4 billion. The precious metals included gold bars and gold savings accounts.

“Some of the precious metals are in the form of gold bars, and some are gold savings. The quantity is still being counted,” Budi said.

The KPK is known to have conducted a sting operation at the BNPB office, detaining several people.

“Several people have been detained and are being questioned,” KPK chairman Setyo Budiyanto told reporters on Tuesday (13 October).

Setyo did not say who had been detained in the operation or provide details of the investigation. Those detained are still being questioned. The KPK has 24 hours to announce their status.
