KPK Conducts OTT in North Sumatra, Langkat Regent Syah Afandin Arrested

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has conducted a sting operation (OTT) in the North Sumatra region. During the operation, investigators detained Langkat Regent Syah Afandin. “That’s correct,” said KPK Deputy Chair Fitroh Rohcahyanto when confirmed on Friday (3/7/2026). The KPK has not yet disclosed the number or identities of all parties detained in the operation. The anti-corruption body has also not explained the case that formed the basis of the sting operation. All detained parties are still being questioned. The KPK has 1x24 hours to determine their legal status in accordance with applicable regulations.
