Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confirmed that it has conducted its 20th sting operation (OTT) throughout the year 2026.

“That is correct,” said KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto to journalists in Jakarta on Monday.

Setyo stated that the KPK is currently conducting preliminary examinations of the parties who have been arrested.

When asked about the identity of those detained, Setyo mentioned that one of the parties involved is from a land office (Kantah).

“The land office and several other parties,” he said.

Under the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP), the KPK has a 24-hour window to determine the legal status of those arrested during the sting operation.

Previously, the KPK began its first sting operation of 2026 by arresting eight individuals between 9–10 January. These arrests concerned alleged bribery related to tax audits at the North Jakarta Medium Tax Service Office under the Directorate General of Taxes, Ministry of Finance, for the 2021–2026 period.

In the same month, the KPK arrested the Mayor of Madiun, Maidi, in the second sting operation, and the Regent of Pati, Sudewo, in the third.

In February 2026, the KPK arrested the Head of the Banjarmasin Medium Tax Office in South Kalimantan during the fourth sting operation.

During the same month, the KPK also arrested Rizal, the former Director of Enforcement and Investigation at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, Ministry of Finance, who was serving as the Head of the West Sumatra Regional Customs Office, in the fifth sting operation.

Additionally, the KPK arrested the Chairman of the Depok District Court, I Wayan Eka Mariarta, and the Deputy Chairman of the Depok District Court, Bambang Setyawan, in the sixth sting operation.

Subsequently, the KPK arrested the Regent of Muara Enim, Edison, in the 12th sting operation, and arrested an official from the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK) in the 13th operation, which was a follow-up to a previous arrest. Furthermore, the KPK conducted the 14th sting operation, which led the Regent of Kuantan Singingi, Suhardiman Amby, to surrender himself.

In July 2026, the KPK conducted its 15th to 18th sting operations. Those arrested included the Regent of Langkat, Syah Afandin (also known as Ondim), the Regent of Sukoharjo, Etik Suryani, the Regent of West Lombok, Lalu Ahmad Zaini, and the Regent of Pemalang, Anom Widiyantoro.

In August 2026, the KPK conducted its 19th sting operation, arresting members of the Rectorate at Jenderal Soedirman University (Unsoed).
